Ramirez, Bogaerts back in Red Sox lineup tonight

BOSTON — Two big bats are back in the Red Sox lineup.

Xander Bogaerts, who was on bereavement leave, made it back from Aruba after he was initially expected to return Monday in Detroit. Hanley Ramirez, meanwhile, is sufficiently over his illness to the point that he's back in the lineup for the first time since April 5. Both took early batting practice Tuesday at Fenway Park ahead of a night game with the Orioles.

Outside of Jackie Bradley Jr., who's on the disabled list with a right knee sprain, the lineup was essentially what you'd expect.

The lineup behind lefty Drew Pomeranz:

1. Dustin Pedroia 2B

2. Andrew Benintendi CF

3. Mookie Betts RF

4. Hanley Ramirez DH

5. Mitch Moreland 1B

6. Xander Bogaerts SS

7. Pablo Sandoval 3B

8. Chris Young LF

9. Christian Vázquez C

The Sox made a few related roster moves, including activating Bogaerts from the bereavement list. Bradley is now on the disabled list (retroactive to April 9) with a right knee sprain, as expected. His stay is not expected to be long.

Meanwhile, Pomeranz was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list for Tuesday's start, which led to Deven Marrero being optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket.

The Sox are still carrying seven relievers.
