Rafael Devers sets another historic Red Sox mark with homer vs. Royals

Rafael Devers continues to be a bright spot in what's largely been a disappointing season for the Red Sox.

The 22-year-old already has set career highs in every major offensive category. That, of course, includes home runs, and he crushed his 23rd of the year vs. the Royals on Monday.

Watch below:

With that homer, Devers makes yet another mark in Red Sox history. He's the first Sox player age 22 or younger to hit at least 23 dingers in a season since 1966, when both Tony Conigliaro (28 HR) and George Scott (27) accomplished the feat.

At this pace, you can count on Devers eclipsing both Conigliaro and Scott's home run totals.

This is just the latest historic mark in what's been a season full of them for Devers. In July, for example, he became the youngest Red Sox player since Ted Williams to have a 30-RBI month.
