CHICAGO -- It wouldn't be another day with the Red Sox without another injury or two.
Outfielder Scott Podsednik left the game in the fifth inning Sunday night after hitting into a 4-6-3 double play. He didn't run hard down the line and, according to manager Bobby Valentine, is suffering from a slight left groin strain.
"He needs a day," reported Valentine.
Later, Kevin Youkilis, who snapped an 0-for-20 skid with a single to lead off the eighth inning, came out of the game after having had his big toe stepped on.
He was replaced at third by Nick Punto, but Youkilis isn't expected to miss any time.
The Sox will benefit from a scheduled day off Monday.
