Patrick Chung's broken arm made it a bittersweet Super Bowl for the Patriots veteran safety. He had surgery on the arm Friday and in an Instagram post on Monday, showed off the scar on his forearm with the number of stitches to match his uniform number.
Chung vowed to be "right back" in a post-surgery Instagram video, and faces a long recovery to get back on the field next season with more surgery expected in about three weeks on a previous shoulder injury. He was wearing a shoulder harness in games late in the season.
Chung turns 32 in August has played nine seasons over two different stints with the Pats. He's signed through 2020 after signing a two-year, $11.5 million contract extension in May 2018.
