BOSTON -- Having lost Jonathan Papelbon, the Red Sox now turn their attention to their other high-profile free agent, David Ortiz.
But unlike Papelbon, who didn't seem to have any qualms about leaving, Ortiz wants to stay in Boston.
"American League teams are going to chase me," Ortiz told Comcast SportsNet's Jessica Moran Tuesday at an event at the Animal Rescue League. "I hope the Red Sox get it done."
The Boston Herald's John Tomase reported on Twitter that Ortiz said he would give the Sox the chance to match any offer he receives in free agency.
