Before Saturday's Red Sox-Yankees matchup in London, Mookie Betts and Alex Rodriguez sent their heartfelt messages across the pond to David Ortiz.
Betts, a teammate of Ortiz's from 2014-16, told his good friend, "I love you, we'll be back soon. Get well and I'll come to see you."
A-Rod followed up by telling Big Papi, "Hurry back, big fella. Not only Boston, baseball, everyone's cheering for you, and you can do this."
Ortiz, who suffered a gunshot wound in the Dominican Republic earlier this month, remains in good condition and was moved out of the intensive care unit at Massachusetts General Hospital last week. His wife, Tiffany, has been sharing encouraging updates on his health.
Dominican police arrested the alleged "mastermind" of the shooting on Friday.
