Hanley Ramirez’s defense and work ethic has been a hot topic of conversation this season, but that might not be his most significant problem entering this offseason. Lou Merloni thinks it’s his hitting.
“You look at the month of April, the guy had 10 homeruns. Since then he’s got a .644 OPS in 85 games,” said Merloni. “This isn’t a small sample size: he’s hitting .183 with a .449 OPS since the All-Star break. He’s just not hitting, that’s going to be your biggest issue.”
