Joe Kelly's 2018 brawl with Yankees among his Red Sox highlights

Joe Kelly's tenure with the Boston Red Sox ended Thursday when he agreed to a three-year, $25 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, a source confirmed to NBC Sports Boston's Evan Drellich.

The move ends a four-year tenure for Kelly in Boston during which he became a fan favorite for on and off-field moments. One of those on-field moments that endeared himself to Red Sox Nation was his part in the benches-clearing brawl between the Sox and rival New York Yankees on April 11 of this year.

Yankees infielder Tyler Austin went in for a hard slide on Brock Holt at second base in the third inning. The Sox were not pleased with the nature of his slide, and Kelly plunked him with a fastbal in the sixth inning. Austin took exception, slammed his bat on the ground and charged the mound. Kelly seemed to welcome the oncoming altercation judging by his reaction as Austin approached him. The Sox pitcher even landed a few punches on Austin.

Check out the wild scene in the video below.

Kelly had many other memorable moments with the Red Sox, including striking out the side in his final appearance for the team in the eighth inning of Game 5 of the 2018 World Series, but this brawl probably will be what fans remember before all else.
