Is Bradley Jr. out of time with Red Sox?

NEW YORK -- Jackie Bradley Jr.'s latest shot with the Red Sox has gone just like the others.

The concussion suffered by Mookie Betts on the last homestand opened up some playing time for Bradley in center.

But once more Bradley has failed to hit - even a little, batting just over .100. And with Betts rejoining the team in Detroit today, it won't be long before he's cleared to return and reclaims his role as everyday center fielder.

At that point, Bradley will have to battle Rusney Castillo and Alejandro De Aza for playing time in right - that is, if he stays with the parent club at all when Betts is activated.

What a shame it is that Bradley can't hit even a little and earn himself a bigger role. His play in center is natural, effortless and smooth.

But given opportunity after opportunity, Bradley has failed to demonstrate that he's capable of playing regularly.
