The American League won the MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday after two back-to-back home runs in the fourth inning made the score 3-2.
Before the game, Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers held his ground when asked about contract negotiations. Devers expressed after spring training that he will wait until the season is over before discussing deals.

"I don't want to worry about that. That's why, like I mentioned after spring training, I wasn't going to talk about any contract discussions throughout the season because I don't want that type of distraction," Devers told The Boston Globe via translator Bryan Loor-Almonte. "That's something that's between the team and me."
Despite not wanting to share information on the topic, Devers did confirm a report from The Globe's Alex Speier that the Red Sox used first baseman Matt Olson's eight-year, $168 million contract extension with the Atlanta Braves as a basis for contract discussions.
"[The Red Sox' initial number] was pretty similar," Devers said. "I know my value. I don't want to be compared with anyone else, regardless of what the position is. I'm me, and that's who I want to be compared to. I know what my value is."
When asked to clarify what that value was, Devers and Xander Bogaerts, who has also been questioned this season about contract negotiations with the Sox, laughed.

"You're trying to get me!" Devers said as he stuck to his previous stance.
Devers is set to enter his final year of arbitration next season and will become an unrestricted free agent after the 2023 season if he and the Red Sox can't agree to an extension.
