One of the signature events of baseball's All-Star Game festivities is the Home Run Derby, but there's an added layer of intrigue this season, as this year's champion will take home a cool $1 million along with the title.
How big a deal is that? Only two of the eight players in this year's field have a salary over $1 million this season, with half the field making less than $600,000.
This will mark the eighth straight season that Red Sox fans won't have any of their own players to cheer for, but the team has a long history of competing in the event.
Six different sluggers have swung for the fences over the years, with one taking home the crown.
