Friday's Red Sox vs. Rays game postponed, rescheduled to June

The Boston Red Sox' Friday night game against the Tampa Bay Rays has been postponed due to rain.

The game has been rescheduled to Saturday, June 8 at 6:10 p.m. as part of a doubleheader at Fenway Park. The regularly scheduled game is at 1:05 p.m.

Friday's game was supposed to be Josh Smith's first start for the team and his first major-league start since 2016. David Price is scheduled to pitch in tomorrow afternoon's game, and it remains to be seen whether Smith will remain on the roster or be sent back down to Pawtucket.

The Red Sox (11-15) will complete this series, weather permitting, against Tampa Bay on Saturday (4:05 p.m.) and Sunday (1:05 p.m.). So far, they are 3-0 against the AL East-leading Rays, after sweeping them at Tropicana Field last weekend.
