MIAMI -- Felix Doubront rebounded nicely after his first poor start of the season, pitching a career-best seven innings while limiting the Miami Marlins to just three hits as the Red Sox posted a 10-2 victory, their second win in a row following four straight losses. The ten runs for the Sox topped their output (eight runs) from the previous four games combined.
Doubront didn't allow a hit until Miami shortstop Jose Reyes homered with two outs in the sixth. He yielded another run in the seventh on a single, double and fielder's choice, but got through the inning and improved to 7-3.
The lefty, who was rocked for six runs against Washington last week, fanned nine, tying a season high.
David Ortiz knocked in three of the Red Sox' runs with a solo homer in the fourth, a sacrifice fly in the sixth and a single to right in the eighth. Adrian Gonzalez (three hits) added two RBI.
The Sox blew open a two-run game with six insurance runs in the top of the eighth, an inning which featured two hits and two RBI from pinch-hitter Nick Punto.
