David Price chimes in on Magic Johnson exit, defends Lakers legend

You know it's a monumental event when athletes from different leagues are weighing in.

The morning after Magic Johnson stunned the basketball world by abruptly (and very publicly) resigning as the Los Angeles Lakers' president of basketball operations, Boston Red Sox pitcher David Price, of all people, chimed in with his analysis.

Johnson explained in a Tuesday night press conference he simply wasn't having fun in his role and had grown tired of the "backstabbing" and multiple allegations of tampering.

It appears Price sympathizes with Magic and is glad the Lakers legend is taking control of his own situation.

It's a pretty random tweet from Price, who as far as we know isn't a die-hard fan of Johnson or the Lakers. But the veteran pitcher has endured plenty of ups and downs during his 11-plus-year playing career, so maybe Johnson's personal journey struck a nerve.
